What We Do

Instrument Tuition

We offer vocals, keyboard, guitar, bass and drum tuition both in school from our portable trucks and after school from the Otūmoetai College music studios.

The Jam bus

The Jam Bus is a specialised music programme that is the perfect way for tamariki to explore different instruments and play together as a band.

Performing Opportunities

Each year we go around a large number of kura that we partner with in Tauranga to showcase our amazing students. We also run large professional concerts for the students to showcase their new skills to whanau and friends. These concerts have a professional sound, stage and lighting system to get as close to a rockstar experience as possible!

Holiday Programmes

We run holiday programmes during the Term 2 and Term 4 school holidays.

Student – kaiako pathway

We have a pathway for those students that we recognise as being role-models to our tamariki. They are trained and then take on tutoring roles here at Upton Music School.

Giving back to our community

Giving back to the amazing community that supports us is a big focus here at Upton Music School. Every year we use our trucks and bus to pack and deliver Christmas presents to Ōranga Tamariki. Social workers then deliver these to tamariki in need.
